Eczema is a collective term that refers to a general medical condition that is characterized by inflammation and irritation of the affected part of the skin. This condition is prevalent among teenagers although recent studies indicate that adults may be equally vulnerable as well. There is no known cure for eczema but fortunately there are eczema natural treatments that can be employed to help relieve symptoms.

1. Studies show that by applying coconut oil over the human skin drastically reduces skin dryness. This happens because coconut oils contain high level of healthy vital nutrients required for a moisturised skin. And therefore by simply applying coconut oil for long periods of time you can banish eczema forever.

2. Taking an over the counter medicine like benadryl will help relieve the urge to scratch. While benadryl may cause sleepiness it is best to take it at night before bed. You can take it in pill form or a liquid form, just make sure you do not plan on operating any machinery or drive. In my experience's antihistamines caused myself and family members to become very tired.

3. A good holistic approach to getting eczema relief is to immediately make some dietary changes. One thing you could make is to identify and eliminate all the triggers that cause your eczema to flare-up. Common food triggers for eczema are milk, eggs, fish, peanuts, soy products and wheat. Keeping a detailed food and eczema outbreak diary may help.

4. Use lukewarm water and bathe for fifteen minutes. Excessive bathing can cause dry skin and make your skin susceptible to flare-ups. Refrain from using abrasive bathing accessories such as shower puffs and loofahs to prevent further skin irritation. Use a hypoallergenic and perfume-free body cleanser it apply it to your body by using your fingertips.

5. Also try to avoid fragrances and detergents while suffering from eczema, these can react very badly causing a quick spread of the disease. My recommendation is to wear cotton clothes all the time, cotton is a very soft and itchy free material and it will drastically alleviate the annoying symptoms caused by eczema: itchiness, irritation, inflammation and redness.

6. You want to chose a soap for your skin and your clothing that is hypoallergenic. This way it is easy on your skin and clothing that will be touching your skin. Harsh soaps and detergents can worsen eczema causing it to become irritated.

7. Wet wraps are probably the most effective tools you can use to get rid of eczema. Bathe in lukewarm water for ten to twenty minutes, apply medication, and wrap the bandages around the affected areas. Wet wraps can trap the moisture in your body and prevent it from developing more lesions and bruises.

8. Another effective cure to get relief from eczema can be found in basic lifestyle changes. Effective lifestyle changes include drinking at least 3 liters of water per day, keeping the skin well moisturized, wearing natural cotton clothing, and reducing your contact with man made products that trigger your condition
