Another home remedy is one involving lemon; all that has to be done is to apply lemon juice regularly over acne. This helps in reducing both acne and pimples. Garlic too is effective in curing acne. All that has to be done is to rub raw garlic over acne several times a day.

Neem Leaves and Turmeric: This is a traditional method of clearing acne naturally. Take some tender neem leaves and raw turmeric and then crush them to make a paste. Apply it on the pimples for 15-20 minutes and then wash off.

Another effective remedy for acne is a hot Epsom salt bat. In order to prepare this bath mix one and a half kilogram of Epsom salt to 50 litres of water at 100 o F. The patient should remain in the bath from 25 to 35 minutes till he perspires freely.

Put about 2 tablespoons of baking soda into one of your hands and using the other hand drizzle a little water onto the baking soda until you make a loose paste. Too much water will make it dissolve, so be careful. Apply the baking soda to your face using circular motions. Make sure you cover your entire face with the baking soda. Do this for about 1 minute. Apply lemon juice to pimples. Lemon juice is an effective overnight remedy to treat pimples because it contains alpha hydroxy acids, an ingredient that is in many expensive skin care products. To use it as an overnight treatment, first wash your face with a gentle face cleanser. Pour or squeeze 1 tsp. lemon juice into a bowl. If you have sensitive skin, also pour 1 tsp. water into the bowl and mix it with the lemon juice. Use a cotton ball to absorb the liquid, and apply the mixture to your pimples. Leave the lemon juice on your skin overnight. Wash it off in the morning.

Wear sunscreen daily to protect scarred skin from further damage. Any degree of sun exposure will damage your skin, even if you can't visibly see the damage. In order to expedite the healing process, you must keep skin protected from the sun's damaging rays.

One way to remove blackheads is to use steam. Wash your face, then hold your face over a bowl of hot water so your face is bathed in steam. After about 5 minutes the steam will have opened your pores, making it easier to remove the blackheads. Use a blackhead scrub, or an acne scrub with beads or sugar, to wash your face.
